Best non-kinkable lightweight hose.
« on: April 28, 2023, 12:05 »
No, not nylons, I mean a garden hose. I have the yellow one with a stripe down one side and need an extension with possibly a Y connector as I need to water at the front then around the side and back of the house. Has anyone got any recommendations before I look on-line? Mods: please move if in wrong place.
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

These work quite well, Goosey, but you need to get a decent one, as they don't last forever...

100FT Garden Hose Expandable Water Pipe, Flexible Magic Water Hose with 7 Function Spray Gun for Household Indoor Outdoor - Heavy Duty 3 x Expanding Hose Pipe, Easy to Store, Green

I still use them, as we have all the kit that goes with the connections etc., and we don't really water around the place that much!

Worth a pop though, and easy to store too!

There are so many out there, GG, all you need to do is Google 'Extendable hose' and you'll get a huge choice!

Amazon do one, and so do Robert Dyas!

Had a look but found they aren't suitable for pressure washers so had a re-think. I'll get one of these for the back garden then get another reel of the yellow plastic one for the front to attach to the current one.

Sounds like a plan, GG!

Sorted!

I have a permanent hose arrangement which gets water to the \GH, and uses a 'y' joint halfway, so that I can plug in the extendable or any sort of hose on the third point of the junction! It actually broke in the frost, but stuck together well with some decent glue!

That's just what I'm planning, though I need someone to replace the outdoor tap as it leaks where it connects to the pipe and is covered in old paint. Got a Y joint and other hose attachments so all should be well, and I won't have to pull and tug a rather long heavy hose from the front, along the side, then right down the back of the house where my veggies are or, mmm, I could attach the Y thingy onto my OH's underpants, turn the tap on, then see what the neighbours say!  :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2:

Ha ha ha!

I got the hose to go right around the garden towards the GH, then diverted another short hose with the 'Y' Front, to make sure the bean bed was serviced, and the cucumbers got a drenching when they needed it!

Mrs Growster bought me a four-way diverter for my birthday last year, but I'm wondering what to do with the other two spare bits...
