Sand Bath
« on: August 20, 2008, 14:52 »
As my girls were doing so well i thought i would go a treat them to some silver sand to have a dust bath in.  I got a washing up bowl and put some sand and red mite powder in it.  The girls aren't impressed at the moment.  In fact it looks like they are eating it!  Is this OK?  Perhaps i should pick a bird up and put her in the bowl, then she'll get the idea.

Mine have eaten nearly 2 washing up bowls of the stuff! They just dig a hole in the garden for their bath!

YES I do have grit and shell down for them to eat too.
