yes peel them, some of mine love chopped old bananas. I only like them when they are really firm - as soon as they become bright yellow any not used for banana loaf gets given to the chickens  :)
Staffies are softer than you think.

Mine are not a fan, they dont seem to like anything soft, try it, scrape their beaks around a bit in disgust then move onto something else!

Hi

I've tried mine on a variety of food but find they are very picky.  Pumpkin was a waste of time, grapes were liked for a very short time and peppers once the seeds are eaten the rest is left.
I think mine would do the beck wiping with bananas so don't think I'll bother

Like Joyfull, mine get the really ripe bananas   They love them... they usually have them mashed up with their mash (pellets soaked in hot water...) and it's all gone in a couple of hours!!

Its only fruit after all. Some may love it, some not. Why not try a few grains on them? Or even a halved fruit in the skin to peck at. :)

beats having to eat them with a pin like I used to do as a kid - took ages and they ended up so boring

Mine treat bananas very casually but they clear them off by the end of the day.
I still remember having a tongue like a dart board as a child when using a pin,
to eat pomegranite, how would you get the pips out easily, other than using a juice squeezer ?
Yorkshire Rose x Scottish Thistle - nice blooms, but wear a glove

Well, if you've never seen Jamie Oliver do this, there are many films on YouTube which demonstate it, but basically you halve the fruit with a knife then bash the skin side with the back of a spoon whilst holding it open side down over a bowl. The red jewels just fall out. Easy! :D

Mine go absolutely mad for bananas. My old ex-bat Rosie turns into roadrunner trying to cram as much in her beak as possible then legging it....not bad for a 5 + year old.  :)
Hooked on chooks !

Mine just love pomegranate. They go bananas over it ('scuse the pun! ;)) I cut it up in quarters and it's gone in a jiffy - never seen such action in fighting for food! Morr****s had 4 for £1 not so long ago so it was a great low cost treat.
My Mum gave them some frozen (defrosted) corn on the cob for Christmas. They loved that too. Kept them busy for ages.
Shortlived treats tho - I'm not usually in the habit of buying stuff specially!

Just a word of warning, bygrace, re corn on the cob and dogs!   Always dispose of the cob where your dogs (if you have dogs) cant get them - they are lethal if eaten by dogs, work like a bottle brush and scrape their insides and do dreadful damage - big vet expenses and sometimes worse.   And dogs do love to chew on them, not just the chooks!
