Title: Iseki KC4
Post by: Huzey on May 02, 2009, 17:49
Hi all.
I have just purchased an iseki kc4 tiller/2 wheel tractor, and was wondering if anyone knew the correct size of engine that was originally fitted, as mine has got a briggs and stratton 3 horse power that doesn't seem quite big enough. There is not a lot of info on the web as I can find, and any I can seems to be french. Mine does have some french writing on it so am assuming that is where it came from. Will try and get a photo or 2 on here soon.
All the best, and thanks in advance.

I don't really know a thing about these machines, but someone in cornwall had one.
I see that he hasn't posted since sorting out his machine, but it might be worth gving him a "pm" and seeing if he can share some info with you.
I think Ransome's are still importing Iseki equipment though......

I cannot find this model listed but is possably a newer version of the KC420 or KC450 which had 5hp and 7hp engines.  Can you post a picture

It looks like the 450 range so I guess a 5hp at least, and with a deck that wide i would think a 7hp would be a good idea.
Nice bit of kit lots of gears to play with.
Engine will be "Q" fit so any honda G engine with a 19mm straight shaft will sit well as the power plant.

It is a 26 inch tiller. I think the blades are adjustable, as well as the wheel width.

New engine turned upand fitted yesterday, and have just tried it out on the plot. What a great bit of kit. Just got to get a couple of new belts now and we should be sorted. :D
Thanks all for the input and interest.
Regards Huzey.

26" is huge huge, great for clearing the land and turning in muck etc ,have you sorted it so you can narrow it down for between the rows?

No I haven't done that Shaun. I am going to use it to prepare the seed bed, and then use either my Landmaster 140 with hoe blades on, or if I pull my finger out, I have just been given a Landmaster 70 with an old jap engine that needs looking at, that is about 12 inches wide with hoe blades on that would go between the rows nicely. I wonder if I can graft the briggs I took off the Iseki on to the landmaster 70?  :tongue2:
