Last autumn I got a bag of mixed daffodil and tulip (at least, I think that's what they were) bulbs free with an order of other bulbs.  I planted some of them but didn't have time to get through the whole packet.  I've just found the bag in the shed and they still look OK although some are starting to sprout a bit.  Is it worth planting them now if I can find space, or are they a lost cause?

They're unlikely to give you a show this spring if you plant them now, but they won't improve being left in the bag. I'd plant them now anyway.

I found a bag of daffs in the garage - ive just planted them all in a pot - highly doubt get anything like a flower this year but ill replant them in the garden back end of summer probably

Good points, both - thanks!  I'll see if I've got a pot or two I'm not using for anything else and sling them in with a bit of compost.

I've just found a few bags of muscari bulbs that I missed and I filled a planting tray with mix, planted the bulbs (there were a lot) and watered them before placing the dome over it. I'm keeping them in a cool place to get some root growth happening and when it's warmer, I'll set them out in place once they're hardened off. They're flowering time might be a bit messed up this year but they'll sort themselves out for next year.
