Yes April  :D we did do it on a sunny day, so we were lucky.
We are growing them on our second plot. This one was well looked after, up to the time the gentleman decided he was getting too old for it.

Mine are up too, but I used the paper pots method. Hopefully they will be straight and not kinked when they are dug up in, er, 8 months.   Hurry up, snips!

I thought you meant last May!

I only planted my parsnips last week as its been so cold and wet up here, but I did sow my old last years seed that was left over in a pot in the greenhouse, and 4 or 5 of them are coming up.  I am going to put them into long pots that I've got with sieved compost and sand to see how they grow on their own!

Nothing yet here, sowed about 3 weeks ago.
When weeding, the best way to know if its a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull it.

If it comes out easy, it was a valuable plant !

Munty rotatvated  the patch about 3 or four times on a slow speed ( ) and then raised the whole bed until it resembled a well dug grave about 18 inches high! I think we were just lucky with the weather. Had many a year parsnip free!!
