sweet peppers still very small

I planted Sweet Pepper 'Mohawk' F1 Hybrid in containers right at the end of the time recommended. The plants are very healthy but the biggest peppers are still only 'finger nail' size. Have they any chance of ripening?

I put my Romano peppers outside a few weeks ago under cloches and after a slow start, they suddenly started to produce lots of little green peppers, some of which are growing very fast! One reached 9 inches in as many days. I don`t really mind if they don`t ripen,on a taste test,I can`t tell the difference between a green a yellow or a red pepper !!
Hang on in there,if this hot weather carries on,I bet they`ll do their best to ripen for you!
