onion sets

i planted some onion sets and garlic 2 weeks ago and i've just noticed they are begining to sprout is this right i thought they would wait until spring.

Perfectly normal,i assume the onion sets are a Japanese variety which are over-wintering.

yes  i think so senshyu yellow and a red onion dont no the name but it did say plant sept-dec

I would guess that the red is Electric.
