Should I feed Sweetcorn
« on: August 04, 2010, 09:50 »
Hi everyone I had a lovely surprise the other day when I notice my sweetcorn starting to form some good looking fluffly tassles one plant is even managing to produce two - what if anything should I be feeding these plants now to help maintain growth??

Thanks
Missy

I wouldn't bother with any dry feed now as it won't act quickly enough to benefit the plants.

A liquid feed would be beneficial; my choice would be tomato fertliser or similar (Miracle Grow is fairly high in nitrogen which the plants don't really need now.)

Most important thing really is to keep them well watered to make sure those kernels are juicy and tender. Yum!

Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

lots of water. Shouldnt need feeding if the ground was well prepared before they went in, but it may not harm them
