Title: computer problem
Post by: azubah on December 16, 2017, 09:06
Has anyone got this message on closing down their computer?
"a problem has occurred in bitdefender threat scanner . a file has been created at C\windows\TEMP\bitdefender threat scannertmp."

Any advice on what to do about it?

If it is where you say at c:\windows\TEMP then you should be able to delete it, since it is by definition a temporary file.

If "scannertmp" is the file name or the end of the file name then it also implies it is a temporary file by the tmp bit. So again should be able to delete it.

The file may be stuffed there while the PC is running and it then may get deleted at power off or when the application that created it completes. As in anything in here is temporary and will be deleted at completion or shut down.

Check the contents of the TEMP folder as again everything in there should be able to be deleted. Unless Micro Soft have changed the definition of the word "TEMP".
