Title: Sand or Pea Shingle
Post by: mrs bouquet on April 12, 2018, 17:41
Hallo again everybody.  Haven't been around for a while.  Family illness and bereavement etc.

Anyway, I am currently blighted by wood pigeons, their mess is just awful !!!! and the damage to my plants well .....
My latest purchase is an owl with a head that twists (due to arrive tomorrow.  Instructions say to fill it with sand or pea shingle, since I have neither, which is the heaviest ??

Also, please, what other deterrents do you recommend.  I cannot net over, they are everywhere - HELP.
Regards, Mrs Bouqet

I'd imagine sand to be heavier for the volume you need to fill but they will possibly come in the same weight bag!  Soil or subsoil might do the same job?
