 Have done the first lot of Hot cross buns. Orange and chocolate chip buns, and some bog standards.

Help yourself, I like to share.

Going to use some of them in a hot cross bun and butter pud for Easter Sunday, if I can hide some in the freezer before Victor Meldrew gets his paws on them.

Did you know that in the middle ages and Tudor times all bread was marked with a cross to stop the devil stopping the bread from rising.

We love hot cross buns, but don't eat them much with trying to lose weight, but these look lovely, so I'll make an exception!  LOL

I dont like them or doughnuts, or chelsea buns, or tea cakes lol  bit funny about mixed textures and tastes.
Ok been busy with little Harry we upset the apple cart by missing a " contains cereals containing gluten" warning, made a very poorly little boy. That was thursday, we are slowly getting over it.  Hes now added barley and rye to his avoid at all costs diet.

They look fab!  I will be doing one small batch on Friday - I love them but I am the only one in the house that eats them and As I am only 2 lb off my target weight in Weight Watchers I don't want to undo the good work.

Ok being all organised i did 2 loaves 16 hot cross buns and a cheese and onion pie , the buns we made from a morrisons recipe and as ive been using the bread recipe and getting good results any way these were the worst buns ive ever made they were an awful colour and just not good at all as a hot cross bun , i think in bread pudding they will be ending , ive got some mary berry proving at the moment and they are taking their time .

Made the Paul Hollywood buns last night, and apart from needing a little more spice in, they worked well and tasted lovely - but with 2 risings and a final prove they took ages.
Worth it though, I think
