I think it depends on your budget because this was our first year we bought cheapest  we could find ,nothing fancy and we have had really good results .Next year am going to try some more fancy seeds for somethings but you cant go wrong with seeds from netto(including runner seeds)  at 19 yes 19 p a packet they have a decent selection or if you dont live near a netto wilkinsons do packets of seeds at 50p upwards hope this helps

A nursery is normally cheaper than garden centres. Wilkinsons do seeds. Netto had them in for 19p a packet.

I ordered most of my seeds online though  ;)

If you have a local lotty association, check out their supplies too - not necessarily for seeds but for canes / fertiliser etc etc etc
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Always look where the seeds are being displayed. last year I took a trip to a large garden centre, you know the type that sells everything from fish to Christmas decorations.
Anyway I could not beleive my eyes they had the seeds displayed in a huge green house very light and extremely hot completely the wrong way to store seed, and folk wonder why the germination rate is poor. Steer clear .
Yorkie is right seek out your local allotment association, seeds are much less than marked price and you can pick up some really good advice from seasoned allotmenteers too. :D
Can you hear voices?

This year most seeds came from Wilkinsons, so far all the seeds have done pretty good so cannot complain. Range is a slightly limited but I didn't want a choice of 15 cauli. Just having 2 or 3 to choose between was all I could manage. :D :D

For a bigger selection I have gone online and tend to use podseeds, good variety of vegetables. From them I get some of the less seen varieties of veg such as the current tomatoes that make cherry tomatoes look huge.

That works well for me, a source of fairly inexpensive "standard" seeds and a source of more specialist seeds.
