Hail stones

Hail stones

It hail stoned on saturday and as soon as it finished my two youngest hens were out eating the hail like mad. I've seen them do this before. Does anyone else's chickens eat hail stones?

No - mine run like h*ll for their run as soon as it rains.  :lol: The hailstones must be like ice lollies for chickens.  :)

Mine like them as well as frost and snow.   :)

Oh Thanks Mum & ANHBUC. I forgot to check it worked & went to bed. Not my garden but yes the same storm. Over the last few weeks we have been having hail & each time I worry that they might get bigger.

mine love the ice, which I have been scooping off their water, over the winter   ::)
