Pleased to help.Lived and gre veggies in South Wooton in early 60's.
Take a sweet potatoe and lay it on its side in a shallow tray of water or a ttrat of damp compost. Place on window sill or in green house. Leafy grows will start to grow. When well formed cut off with a lsliver of the parent potatoe and pot omn in pots ready to plant out after the frosts. Grow well in 70 cm diameter containers. Harvested 12 two days ago haveing grown tomatoes, lettuvces and onions above the roots! Just train the above surface growth over the side of the pot.
