im gradually working my way into every forum on this site! LOL

i was thinking about buying a homebrew (beer) kit for my hubby, he always buys cans and i remember my dad making beer, so it got me thinking....

can anyone recommend a good starter kit which comes with everything he would need?

(might have a chat with dad too and see if he still has any of his kit - i dont think he would give it up tho even tho i dont think its used anymore!)

Wilkinson's does a starter kit, with brewing bin, a tin of malt and a few other things.

Looking to get one of these myself. Cheaper than a homebrew shop, quoted £60 from them, or £20 from Wilko's?

yep I get my stuff from Wilkos. Or use freecycle to get the stuff you need as I got 4 demijohns and 1 brewing bin from there.

when i was young and dad made his i remember the smell of it heating up going through the whole house - i did not like it!

but now i kind of am craving to smell that smell again - wierd!

the hubby said hed like to give it a go so i might pop to wilkos at lunch (lucky to have one near where we work) and we also drove into (unlike us) so if they have anything there we can buy it today
