I would put it somewhere quiet and warm where it cant be attacked again and see how it is in the morning.  Most animals that are not fatally injured suffer from stress after an attack and the stress is what kills them.  If you keep checking it this will cause more stress and lessen its chances.  Do let us know how it does
3 dogs, 8 chickens, 4 rabbits 2 guinea pigs, 10 quail, 2 fish and a demanding daughter who has gone to uni and left me with 29 animals to care for!!=)

Here is some advice to go alongside that daisy has given:

Bats are protected but you are allowed to dea with them if they are injured

Try laying it in the palm of you hand , with you hand flat and held out and the bat facing outwards.  Might have to do it for as long as 30 mins.

What sort is it?  Dont think we have blood sucking bats in this country do we
I was told to hold them out in the palm of the hand by a person on a bat help line years ago.  I've done it severel time and the bat has flown off but it does take 20-30 minuets

I must say that is one sharp cat you have if it can catch a flying bat!

Reminds me of a friend who saw something go past the lounge window and do it again 10 mins later.
Daft young cat was leaping out of the bedroom fanlight trying to catch  housemartins. :)

Got fly screens at the bedroom windows but if ever they are left down we often wake in the night to find bats flying round the bedroom.  Had a barn owl in there one night :)
