does anyone grow any flowers to eat?
i just found a recipe for a salad what has marigolds in the ingrediants  and just wondered if any peeps on here has experience with eating flowers and could give me some tips.

nasturtums (sp) are nice in a salad flowers and leaves....slightly spicey.

and dont forget fuschia berries.

i think you can eat violet petals aswell, and young dandelion leaves although i'd pick them first as you might look like a complete loon on your knees munching the lawn! :lol:

You can preserve violet and rose petals (crystalised) and use them on top of fairy cakes etc - or on top of my favourite chocolates (rose and violet creams)

elder flowers are versatile - don't forget rose hips

you can flavour sorbet with scented geranium leaves

i also use corgette flowers

i'm not keen on nasturtiums

lavender can be used to flavour sugar
