Title: Wurzel's Orange Wine
Post by: Cazzy on January 16, 2010, 15:41
I thought I'd share this recipe from another forum with you.  I've just bottled my second batch of this white wine and still can't believe how nice it is.

I'm more of a red wine drinker but this has changed my mind and its so simple and cheap to make.  Think it works out at less than 40p per bottle depending on where you buy your juice.

Edit:  Hope i'm not breaking any rules linking to another forum.

It sounds delicious Cazzy.. I don't drink wine as a rule anymore, I don't get on with it..But that does sound tempting ;)

I hope aunty knows Worzel is moonlighting elsewhere...Big trouble I'd say... ;)

I've been thinking about starting to make wine again after a decade long break.....and that recipe is just what I needed  :)
Will start collecting the gear I need and give it a go as soon as I can :D

That's a lovely Wurzel head wonder if Aunt Sally's seen it yet?

I didn't use the del monte orange, just the cheap 59p (50% extra free) stuff from Aldi (no additives or preservatives).  Worked a treat.

It does ferment fairly violently, i've not had an overflow yet but close to it so I'd put the DJ in a basin or bucket for the first few days to be on the safe side.
