Title: Potato-competition/blight.
Post by: sebsands on August 31, 2021, 14:36
Wondering what allotmenteers views are regarding potato competitions and blighted potatoes.
Our local competition potato weighing has been organised this year with the following communication and would be interested in views here...
                   .....................................................................................
"All potatoes grown from the allotted seed are eligible regardless of condition, so blighted or rotten examples can be included "
                   .....................................................................................
Thanks

Goodness, that’s a bit extreme, our garden club members would exclude themselves we’d hope if the potatoes were blighted.

Surely this is a wind-up (there possibly may be a worse smell than rotting potatoes, but can't think of one offhand!)

Don't think there will be a full house at the prize presentation!
