Title: Summer pruning
Post by: Elmarto on July 11, 2015, 16:43
Hi

I was watching gardeners world last night and monty was summer pruning his trained fruit trees.

I have an espalier and some cordon apples and want to start pruning but thought it was still a little bit early for this according to what I have read!

Maybe I will wait a couple more weeks yet!

He was pruning his pears, I believe - and the RHS says

Quote
Generally, this will be from mid-July for pears and the third week in August for apples and about ten days later in the north

So he was right and so are you  :D

Clearly I wasn't paying attention! :nowink:

Maybe that's why it's all going wrong in the garden!

You must have paid more attention than me as I don't remember it - I must have fallen asleep!
