Title: Diseased Blueberry
Post by: Missey on February 22, 2019, 20:11
Hi,
Can anyone please identify what's killed my blueberry and how I prevent my other two going the same way  :( :(

I'm not sure that it has been killed; my blueberries look just like this at the moment.  The older wood does go grey coloured with papery bark. It does die eventually, but by then new shoots have grown to take its place. Your bush looks to still have young red coloured wood with buds waiting to burst, so I think it will be ok.

I'm inclined to agree, although I think there could be some dead shoots there (i.e. with no buds on) which you might as well prune out.

I agree with the previous two comments. The red coloured wood is still living.

Oh thank you I do hope this is the case.

Had a look at my blueberries a couple of hours ago. They look just like yours! I shouldn't worry too much.  :)

Can you help. My blueberry bush has fruit forming but each branch is being stripped of leaves. I can’t see any caterpillars or other bugs. The fruits look okay. Any idea what might be causing the leaves to be stripped?
