That's wonderful. :D
Be like a duck. Calm on the surface but always paddling like the dickens underneath.

Awww - well done you  :) Don't show mine all that grass or they'll get jealous!

I have Nesta, Esther and Vesta who came from BHWT back in April and have made similar progress. A bit of bullying half way but now they are fine and are enjoying re-organising my garden for me and digging for England behind their shed.

They eat from my hand and make cute 'meep meep' and 'bok bok' noises at me except Vesta who goes 'RRAARRP'  like a rusty gate.

It's so nice to see them getting to behave like proper chickens.  :D

I never knew how badly these poor hens was kept untill we heard on the local news that thousands of hens needed new homes so we decided to take some on board.
I think this sort of thing should be opened up to the public more to show how cruel the coditions are.
I was only in the supermarket the other day when i heard a lady say to her husband "just get the cheap eggs, they're all the same"  hmmmmm.... either she doesn't realise or she doesn't care!!!!

It's hard to believe that people don't know nowdays what goes on with battery hens, she maybe meant that they all taste the same, (which we know is also wrong)  it usually boils down to money in the end.

One of my neighbours saw our two baldies also from Little Hen Rescue and was appalled, she couldn't believe the state of them and that was after several weeks. She is on a very low income but would not eat battery eggs now. I think that until people are confronted by it they don't acknowledge that it's happening. Gentle education and persuasion is the way forward. Nic.

Well done you, they look great  :D  I can't wait for the day when I have the room to keep chickens, I would love to rescue some ex-batts as I think it's such a worthwhile thing to do.

They look great, it always amazes how lovely they look with a bit of care :)
We have 17 chickens, 3 quail, 2 dogs, 3 cats and that's enough (for this week)

Except the ones with golden yolks!
Our first batch of eggs looked very pale by comparison to the ones they lay now. Clearly a better diet and better care improves the taste.

My ladies are doing very well. Had them a month now and they have taken over the garden!
