Title: Cock Bird has stopped 'Cock-a-doodle-dooing'! - Please help!
Post by: johg on June 02, 2008, 13:40
Hi

I have just started keeping pet chickens on my allotment.  They are Free Range and are looked after like they are in a five star hotel!  Being new to this I have purchased various books and followed advice when it comes to feeding, housing etc.  I have six Hens and one Cock bird.  All seem happy and get along with eachother really well.

HOWEVER, I really need your advice regarding my cock bird.  He is eating fine, seems in good health (although does sneeze on the odd occasion). As expected, in the mornings, and sometimes during the day, he used to 'Cock-a-doodle-doo', until recently, and now he does not do it at all.  He is totally silent.

What could be the cause of this?  What am I doing wrong?  Is he not happy/ill etc??

Any help or advice would be very much appreciated.

Kind regards,

Jo Hayward-Graves   :?  :(
