Title: New but not quite

Hello green people,

After I don't know how many years, I am here again to share and learn from you all.

Since the last time I was here I moved to another part of the Netherlands, my chicken family changed completely and my partner and I started and allotment of 300m2.

We have 3 silkies who will be 4 years in may, one cockerel found in the woods last summer when he was still really young, one awfully looking old 'industrial hen' (but she is the funniest of all) and a young strong and big big Brahma hen.

Beside that 2 new foundlanders and an old lady cat :) who have less to do with the gardening but do interact a lot with our chickens ;)

Hi there & welcome(back). I too will be interested in how you grow things in the Netherlands & weather conditions etc. Sounds like you have a menagerie, love the dogs expressions.

That is back indeed :)

We found a beautiful plot close to the Eemmeer which used to be a part of the north see. It is heavy and wet but very rich soil.
Last year I was still living in the east part of the country so we didn't manage to work the garden as it would be best. Hopefully this year we will get a little further especially with the fruit yard, which we left empty last season.
Our eyes are on some old English varieties because of the high moist content in the garden.

For now we are still on 'break' since the soil is hard from frost

Hope to see your stories as wel; garding and poultry keeping?

The whole bunch together is a lot of fun: it is like a family with all separate characters, preferences and their own sense of humor!

Welcome back! I've been lurking in the background for a few years while I've been trying to get control of the wilderness that is my garden. It's just starting to turn a corner now and there are plans for chickens. Your photos are brilliant and all I want to do now is go out and make a start on the fencing! Thank you for the inspiration  :D
