Post by: Riala on May 04, 2009, 16:35
Is there much I can sow now from seed? I appear to have the growing bug!

Lots!  I planted some beetroot directly into the soil at the plot today, so there is one for starters!

Riala, i'd think again if the squash is for your square foot garden? They are monster plants and will grow over everything else. :( i wouldn't want one to spoil all your hard work
or have you got a nice big tub to grow it in :) then the leaves could trail in the yard without hurting anything.

methi is fenugreek. I think fresh its called fenugreek but dried it's methi  :) Whatever, it's delicious. You can sprout it or sow it and let it grow and then harvest the leaves which are used in curries and it has a really distinct flavour, like nothing else.  It's also very good flavoured when dried and added to the dish
