URGENT QUERY RE PURPLE SPRAY.
« on: October 08, 2010, 19:09 »
I need to get some of this stuff urgently, as the girls are picking on Monty (I put him back in the run today). I know I can get it from a large sports shop in their equestrian department, but Im having trouble with the translation on the website.
What are the uses of Purple Spray exactly, from that, I can work out what is what. Is it really purple in colour?

Hi Mary,

Are you referring to Gentian Violet purple spray?

From what Ive read, there seem to be two types of purple spray, one the gentian violet, and another which is more chemical based. Im totally confuse now! Trouble is, living in France, its difficult to know what to ask for, but I know I can get it where Im going. Just dont want to pick up the wrong bottle!

Hi
I think as long as its an antiseptic spray it wont matter what colour it is as long as it disguises anything red.
The one I have incase of emergencies is called Foran's Blue spray.  :)

Commonly used on horses as a wound dressing.... much to vets dismay as it makes the wound difficult to treat after use :(

would imagine there was not too much choice in the medical part of a horse website.... I cant think of anything else that is purple...... maybe just two different types of one product??
I love Pekins, Polands and Seramas :) and eggs!!!

Stand for Natural Animal Feeds and is the trade name for lots of products. Still a strange marketing choice but very popular in the equ :)estrian world!
