Well done, i'm only growing potatoes, peas and strawberries this year (so far) but I have high hopes. My strawberries are ripening now, there's pictures in my personal gallery (...and a link in my signature).

they have to be cooked straight from the plot so don't pick them until you intend to cook them.  They can be cooked with all the foliage on in the microwave for 2-3 minutes. You can rinse them under the cold tap if you wish

butter, salt and fresh ground black pepper and salt. They are a taste revelation and you'll never buy em from the shops again.

They are even better cooked on the plot on a barbecue that is ready to go.  Wetting them first does help retain the moisture in the cobs  :D   Keep all the foliage on whilst cooking  :D   I have a little cooker on my lotty so can have the pan boiling in readiness. I am a greedy hog when it comes to corn  :D

just eaten our first harvest ever and gosh what a difference it tastes!
we had new pots, peas and beans all from our garden and they were the best ever, especially the peas. from plant to plate in 20 mins!!
even my fussy son said how lovely they tasted. next is to chomp thru our far too many rosso lettuces!! tryed some and thats delicious too but grew far too much, we are getting to end up like rabbits!!

Well done chickchick. Welcome to the wonderful world of proper food grown by your own labour.  Hope you are growing some sweetcorn, it is out of this world.

The world is now your oyster or possibly vegetable oyster.

Happy growing,
Dragonfly

Just got my first produce of the plot. Tasted really nice, much better than shop bought ones.

Carrots were grown in barrels full of compost, so their skins were soft enough to not bother peeling. Potatoes just needed a rinse.

Should be plenty more to come over the following weeks.
Are you looking for an allotment (full or to share) in South East Sheffield. PM me for details.
