I have  9 sweet potatoes and want to give them a try. how deep do i plant them. All the way underground, Halfway under, or who knows what? Thanks a bunch!

if i remember rightly from other posts on the subject you don't plant the sweet potato, you grow slips off it then plant them. i could be wrong (wouldn't be the first time)

I tried to get slips from the sweet potatoes to put in my hot bed.
But got none so gave up

I used 4 tubers but only 1 produced any slips, its way too late now though. Best to start off early in the year (I did mine in march) but maybe I was late too.

Theres lots of info on growing sweet potatoes if you google and on some topics here,  be prepared for next year!

Actually this year has been pathetic for them, they like it very hot and dry :roll:

I'm having my second year. Bought a bundle of slips and couple of months ago and now have a sea of vines.
My well established neighbour hasn't had much luck. I reckon the spot was a little too shady.
