Yesterday's Debacle
« on: July 03, 2021, 14:35 »
I took my lovely friend, the Professor of Profanities.   Out for lunch ( she doesn't have a car)   I suggested a super restaurant right on the beach.  They have put up a very big plastic marquee, and there are tables and chairs on the pebbles on the beach.   It is usually heaving with people and long queues.  As I drove along the front to it, I said to friend Oh good not so many cars here today.    We drove up a long way and parked beside the greensward and walked to the Cafe.  As we approached it was obviously strange, no people queuing.  Inside the marquee and tables were stacked up, along with a sign saying a member of staff had tested positive.  So it was closed for deep cleaning etc.  and re-opens on 8th July.
Leaving there we went a few miles to another venue and had a lovely lunch in the gardens in the sunshine.
I took her home and then coming back to the village dropped into the garden centre.  I was looking for a large pot and something to plant in it.  Got those, it was now 4.45pm and I am looking after daughters dog for the weekend.   I noticed their car had gone when I got home, so went into mine calling "Tia"  no answer.
4 messages on answering machine, and the phone ringing as I walked in.   Hi daughter said.  We have arrived with friends, and the dog is in our house with all her stuff.  I went round and in, Tia was delighted, so I picked up her bed, collar and lead, toys, food tubs, bowls etc, and bought her home,  by now it was about 6pm and I was a bit shattered.   I had something to nibble and fed Tia, and fell onto the sofa.  No !!
she wanted to play with squeaky ball and teddy, when I have to chase her.  About 10.30 I took her out for a walk with my torch,  came back and noticed 5 slugs.  Now dead. !!!!
What a Day -      Mrs Bouquet

A right old palaver, but you did get your lunch out and now you have a doggy houseguest for the weekend, which I know you will love  :D

Sounds like a busy but fun day  :)

Yes as I fell into bed, I thought, thats all been ok.  The thing is getting use to socialising and going out and about.  Trying to remember what to wear !  bag-lady trousers and old poxy T-shirts just aren't good enough.
Plus the confidence needs a whole big boost.   Tia sits here beside me on the door-mat right now,  she knows they are on their way home.   She is a gorgeous tiny thing.    :)  Mrs B
