Hi Aled
Long time no speak. Hope you are well.
Just back in from a localish lake. Caught 1 lost 2 and missed a few. Rainbows. At least we have 1 dinner sorted :-)
Lovely in the sun but cold when it clouded over. But then the fishing was better. We do suffer ☺️

Been out a couple of times no sea trout yet! However I had a good day at Clywedog, and managed a personal best rainbow trout of 5lb.

I went salmon fishing to Scotland the first week in May. When I eventually get my phone back I'll post a picture of an absolute specimen (not caught by me by the way). I caught a 12.5 lb salmon, which was the biggest fish of the week until Friday, and then my mate caught a 15 lb salmon. I cried. End.
I may be Welsh, but I love ewe anyway!

Well done, Merf.  Not easy to catch salmon in Scotland nowadays, or so I’m told.  Where were you fishing ?

We were fishing the North Esk, near Edzell.

The two attached pics show me holding a 12.5lb salmon and Mick holding an 8lb salmon, and the other pic shows Mick with his 15lb salmon.

Sea trout fishing last week, had a cracking take and a good fish ran off into the darkness, good fight many jumps netted a fish of around 5lb....shone the torch on it to remove the hook and return the fish...turned out i'd landed a male Brown Trout nearly dropped the torch! This week the river has produced at least four other Brown Trout over 3lb. The Tywi is not known as a Brown Trout river, and large fish like this are turning up regularly. Anybody know why?
Cheers
Aled
