It poured all morning but now the sun has come out we've just had our walk and it was quite pleasant in the sunshine

It brightened up here as well and we got some sun 

You could feel the warmth of it as well.  Unfortunately it triggered some seed sowing of peppers and aubergines

A low of -1.5C overnight, 6C outside now. It's calm this morning, with few sunny breaks in the cloud, so I'm off, out for a walk while I can

It stayed above 5C in the greenhouse, last night.
9C outside now, but grey and drizzly - set to stay that way all day, by the forecast *sigh*

Not too bad here at the moment but the wind is getting up and there's a warning we may get 200mm of rain. We've had 24mm in the last 24 hours if my electric wireless weather station is working properly.

Supposedly mild, but it doesn't feel that way when it is pouring with rain, blowing and lights on all day, nearly dark now.

Apocalyptic rain forecast and amber flood warnings for this part of the world today, but have only had 8mm so far.
BBC Look North mobilised all its resources today to report on the unfolding catastrophe, but could only report slightly elevated river levels. 
For the sake of those in high risk areas, hope both they and the Met office continue to have reason to feel embarrassed over the next few days...

The wind since 4pm has been rising and it is now chucking it down.    We have a thick stemmed piece of ivy about five foot long that has suddenly landed on the decking.    Don't know where that came from.

About 8ºC which isn't bad - RAIN! Lots of rain  not as bad as threatened .. yet.  The whole day on the met office forecast is heavy rain, 95% or 90% confidence level.

8C here stayed mild all night, as well, grey and drizzly again, so far.
