Title: Dock & Burdock
Post by: Mark's Sussex Allotment on April 23, 2013, 18:31
Evening all,

I have Dock and Burdock coming through in my potatoe bed and can't dig them out as they are going to interfere with the potatoe tubers.

How many times would you need to hoe the leaves off before they finally die?

The trouble is that if you slice through the root of one shoot, they often regrow more than one shoot  :(
If you keep up with the hoeing, I suppose they will eventually die - but it'll take a while  :(

Just keep at it with the hoe- they`ll give up the ghost eventually and if not you can remove them at harvest time.

I can attest that it is quite tasty - one of the more rewarding wild foods.
