I mildly burnt the top of my balding head (really nice weather today, where I'm at). That aside I did get a lot of stuff done. For good or bad.
- Went out and crushed roughly one fourth (?) of my total budget for the whole year on new middle sized pots for my chili plants to pot on, and then six bags of three for two John Innes mix of... oh. somebody save me. I'm never doing it again. I'm growing my own. This is only my first full year of growing, but I've already had enough. I'm growing comfrey (not going to be of use this year), getting free cow turds (?) from a friend, and trimming my pubes regularly to add to the woody side of my compost bin. I'm going out of my way not to buy any kind of potting on/seed starter BS again.
- Potted on most of my chili plants (see above), and also lots of black sesame seedlings. I'm new to the game so why not explore. Please don't judge, but I get it if you do. Sesame seeds... really? Sorry, yeah. Gotta experiment where my heart is at.
- Went to my parents house and dug up a portion of dirt from a new plot they have in mind. Almost passed out with the heat while trying to break up old brick foundations (out house). Social distancing was maintained. A silver lining in every cloud rung hard in my head: "While your here, can you just... " No!
- Back to mine, and a lot of potting up of seedlings and wondering at what time I will need to get up every morning to do the rounds. I decided I'm not sowing any more seeds - unless they are ones that you do for regular harvesting - I just cannot do that, unless I'm retired or in some kind of self inflicted lock down. Not happening.
- Lastly, I spent many minutes observing a female blackbird get a little more impatient with me for being in her space at that time of the day. Eventually, she just went for the goodies I put out at the beginning of the day. But not before she came real close to me and seemed to look me up and down. I guess I was judged today and by the look of the blackbird, I'm a terrible person!
