Hoping it will rain....in fact storm here today, (sorry Bonnie) as long as we don't get golf ball sized hailstones as in the capital Sofia. After another hot and humid night we have no energy at all. But we have been lazy enough for a week and have prepared pears and tomatoes for bottling. Then I have apple juice waiting to be jellied and lemon curd and peanut butter to make for 'customers'.

Good job the blow up pool is filled and awaiting our hot bods........ah, I think I hear thunder.............

Huh! Best laid plans and all that. Set the huge bottling pan half full of water on the gas stove outside. Thought it was listing alittle but seemed steady enough. Peeled and packed pears, plum tomatoes and cherry tomatoes in tomato juice, clamped on the lids and started to fill the pan. List got worse so off came the extremely heavy pan and tried to tighten the burner on the bottle...no thread! So empty pan, move everything into the kitchen, on with pan, fill again and wait....and wait...for it to come to a simmer.

Running with sweat, stuck in the kitchen....wanna go back to bed! (But it's too hot..)

34 in the shade, not a breath of wind and not a great deal of sun. The weather is mad!

Morning Madame Cholet. Brisk and breezy and much cooler this morning, lovely. Been out and done a bit of weeding and picked a couple of buckets of tomatoes. Only half a bucket of rejects so not too unhappy. Getting anxious about my purple plums as they are dropping in the wind but still hard...a bit like supermarket plums!

Baking today, beetroot cake, shortbread and nectarine and almond tart as well as bread, and since I have some nice cheese, cheese scones.

I'm out today in town to have a hair cut at the Salon when local children with learning issues gain work experience washing hair and on reception.

Then off to cash and carry to buy contains for my new line in olives on my market stall in 2 weeks followed by sign language class. Tomorrow a house clearance auction and then a run through for my first wedding in 2 weeks time.

They probably would, but the flavour will not be so good. I will pick up any that fall if I get to them before the chooks and try to leave the others. Got a lot of 'double' plums this year

Hi Guys & Gals,

Thought I would join the club I get up at 3:20 every morning to go to work it's been 43 days so far without a day off, the joys of being a fisherman.  Only a week to go then i'm having a well deserved weekend off.

Dan
Dear God, Please can you stop the wind and rain and bring on the nice weather. Amen
