I have some ants in the poly which are eating everything. I have read about citrus oil or clove oil. Will this harm the crops if sprayed onto them?

I doubt it will harm them but do you really want everything tasting of oil of cloves?

Get a couple of ant traps. That should sort the problem.

Are they like mouse traps, but much much smaller? And what would you bait them with, cheese, ham or aphids?

And do you set `em a gross at a time. All those little tiny bloodblisters.

Ants don't actually eat plants, but they can cause root disturbance with their nests

So it could be something else eating the plants. Me entire bed of spring onions has been wiped out. Looked like they were sliced up with a razor!

The sliced up onions could be the result of the larvae of leek moths which attack anything in the onion family. The larvae like to tunnel into plant stems as in the pix here
