We made cranberry vodka earlier in the year and it was great by the time Christmas came around.

Okay at risk of being called an alcoholic,

I have some 14 different flavoured vodkas on the go at present.
They are as wide in flavour range as your could possibly imaginge.

The Obvious first:-

Raspberry
Strawberry
Gooseberry
Black Current
Red Current
Plum
Apple
Pear
Damson
Blackberry

Now the outside the box entries:-

Sloe - not Gin but Vodka
Chilli - not for the faint hearted
Nettle- subtle, with a sting in the tail (Excuse the pun)
Dandelion - for the deserning taste buds only

They all work very well and I have at least a bottle of each.  The damson has worked very well and the strawberry is very popular at our summer BBQ's - not for those driving as it does not taste of alcohol.

If you would like more info just send a PM

Regards

Rugbymad40

Sitting here not being able to drink at present due to ill health - aaarh!!!

I also have a number of wines on the go, some beers and a couple of flavoured gins.  Drink realy isn't a problem - I have enough variety to get any visitor drunk!
Enjoying the traditional ways and values of life.

Mars bar vodka
I got into a habit a couple of years ago, where I tried out lots of different sweets with vodka.

My favourite is Mars bar vodka. Basic principle is to chop up a mars bar and put into a bottle of vodka (take some of the vodka out first to fit it all in!!) If you're doing a litre you need 3 normal sozed mars bars. And you just leave it in a cupboard to sit for a few weeks, giving the odd shake now and again. Great served from the freezer and also nice drizzled over vanilla ice cream for a naughty dessert!!

Other sweets I've used are, pear drops, cola cubes, skittles, maltesers, milky way, white chocolate, cadbury's creme eggs (very messy!!).

Make great gifts too!! I always get asked for some at Christmas!!

We have just starting drinking our raspberry vodka.

Im not sure if it was left long enough but it spent 3 weeks in the demi john and now its strained and in a bottle.

But its lovely especially as a long drink with ice and lemonade.

If I did leave it longer would it really be much better ?

The damson one is nice but has been in the cupboard for months now.  Chilli vodka is supposed to be good but haven't had it, I like Buffalo vodka, and blackcurrant vodka too.

MMM, I feel a blooming mary craving coming on

Hi how do you make this damson vodka? Sounds good  :D

Blackberry vodka lovely. Even better is making fool with the soused blackberries after you've drunk the vodka.
Be like a duck. Calm on the surface but always paddling like the dickens underneath.

I make damson and bullace vodka but can't get any damsons here this year.......just no bees! I do my damson vodka the same way I do sloe gin:
One third of a kilner of damsons/bullace skins slit.
Top kilner to half with sugar
Add 1 vanilla pod
Top right to the top with vodka
Shake every day for the first two weeks. Leave for a min of 3 months.
You can do this with dried apricots too and then dip the vodka soaked apricots in dark chocolate once its done. It trying to stop eating the boozy apricots that I have difficulty with!
