I am going to buy husband a petrol strimmer for his birthday - he wanted grass paths so he can cut them!!!

We have no idea which one to get - any suggestions really welcome please.

dont buy a homelite strimmer from b&q as i did and i took it back 3 times and then i took it back after that and got my money back .
i would go for a well known make of strimmer.
i now have a cordless black and decker strimmer works well.....

good advice from essexboy.
I fix this sort of stuff for a living. I have an old Mc culloch strimmer that I got from a bin years ago, but because of my job, keeping it alive is rweasonably easy.
All the cheaper stuff on the market is built to a price, and as a repairer, believe me when i say the quality is going very rapidly downhill.
Have a look at the Northen tools website, their stuff is a bit better quality than the "norm", and not too expensive. :)

Try one of these LINK I own one and have the tiller, hedgecutter, chainsaw brushcutter attachments they are very good easy to use and value for money  :wink:

I bought a petrol strimmer from Focus last year for £60 - something pounds. I used it to cut the grass paths on the allotment and it has been fine.
