So I've succeeded with Butternut squash this year, they were late to get going then went mad.  The fruits are pretty big but still yellowish rather than beige.  The foliage hasn't all died yet.  Will be away from Tuesday until the 16th, frost seems unlikely looking at the forecast but wonder if I should get them in now? What do you folks think?

Personally, I would leave them. My experience is they don't keep if the stalk is not corky.

says  down to 5C tonight 
So, if you decide to leave them outside for another couple of weeks - I'd throw some fleece over them before you go, as it's better to be on the safe side IMO.

Harvested mine today because all the top growth had blackened, as in very low temperature.

Thanks folks.  Forecast not too bad for the next week so think I'll leave them for now, stalks still a bit green.  Got the Crown Prince in a week ago, they're deff ripe.  Going to be a lot of risottos and soup ahead...
