What are you still harvesting?
« on: December 20, 2013, 16:33 »
I think I'll see out the the entire winter and early spring with parsnip. beetroot, celeriac, spring onion and leek - all still in the ground.

Stored stuff includes spuds, apples, onions, shallots and garlic all of which should keep until early summer

Leeks and parsnips still in the ground. A few lettuce growing in the greenhouse and onions in store along with a couple of butternuts.  :)

In the ground are leeks, sprouts, parsnip and swede, plus the odd turnip. While the weather is kind they can stop - but if it gets hard we have to harvest before the wildlife gets really hungry!   Stored are spuds, onions, shallots, apples, marrow and squash.  The freezer is still packed too.

I pulled the last of the beetroot today, also got lots of leeks, parsnips and small celeriac left (anyone know how long celeriac can cope in the ground for?)

I've got some PSB almost ready and also some winter cabbages. Cauliflower plants looking a bit small but we'll see. Onions and squash left in storage plus plenty of green beans, sweetcorn, red cabbage and tomato sauce in the freezer.

Looking at that list I am quite pleased with my first year!

Leeks, parsnips, brussels, celeriac, Swiss chard, carrots, curly kale, two sorts of rocket, lettuce, spinach, Chinese lettuce on the go still, red cabbage and PSB to come along later.

Great year for leeks so far!

I lifted the last of my rainbow chard and found a couple of lbs of potatoes in compost bags that I was growing them in that I hadn't lifted. I still have a large healthy spinach plant also

Chard, brussels, cabbage, kale, leeks, carrots (grown in an old bath). Quite happy with how they are all lasting at the moment. Onions, potatoes and squash in storage.
