Title: Just want a bit of field!
Post by: Totty on February 28, 2011, 20:40
Hi all,

We currently have a lovelly little allotment plot. Really, we try to grow lots of the things we like, and when planned properly we are able to have a modest amount of fruit and veg that we like for around two thirds of the year.
Recently though the yearning for some more land has got stronger.
It would be a dream to have a house with a few acres, but thats not reality and we are quite happy with where we live and our allotment plot is a two min walk away. I would like to look into maybe buying or preferably renting an acre maybe, of a field. Just a corner of a field really. Somewhere we could raise a couple of pigs and table birds as well as grow some of the bulk crops that would mean we could be fairly sufficient in veg, meat and eggs for much of the year. How should i go about finding somewhere suitable, as nothing on the net seems to hit the mark.

Regards

Totty

Are there any farmers you could talk to locally or maybe contact your local NFU office as they might be able to point you in the direction of someone...
