They choose to wander about when it's wet as that's when the choicest worms and little snails are about  :D

Mine usually look fine unless they are moulting and then they soon look like a soggy moggy.

mine must be ladies - they hate getting wet

the door to the run is always open

or maybe the run decked out with logs , dust bath , leaf mulch ,weed pile and surplace lettuce plants is worth staying in the dry for - spoilt madams

Mine wander round in the rain despite having a nice big dry run to go into. They stand there all bedraggled and complain that they're getting wet. If it's a really filthy day (like today) we don't let them out of the run because they really do get soaked and very muddy!! I can hear them complaining as I type.  ::) Poor things - 4 chickens being confined in a 'tiny' 8 square metre run - we're so cruel!!
Hens - Clara (Bluebell) & little newbies Martha (Black Sussex) & Dora (Speckled Maran)
RIP Margot, Geraldine, Hettie,  Ruby & Tilly :(
Cats - Herbie (LH black moggy) Louie (Seal Point Ragdoll) Jazzi (Dilute Torbie) Peggy (g&w stray)
RIP Ollie (Seal Point Ragdoll) :(

nope, my girls don't like the rain, as soon as they feel a drop they do a side step then when they feel another drop they leg it back to the coop or  under a bush  :D

My 4 hens and cockerel free range in a secure garden and spent plenty of time today under the bushes, at least until it was time for their afternoon corn ration. Then they all flocked to the foot of the steps leading to the house and milled around looking expectant and damp.

As some breeds are hardier than others this often has a lot to do with how they react to weather!
