They will be fine I'm sure.
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.

I put my in a couple of weeks ago, and the Garlic, after asking the same question. The general advice on here was that they are very hardy, so should be fine. Some said that a frost encourages them to divide.

Covered mine with netting to stop the birds pulling them out.

Late winter / early spring is good for shallots and as you are more north than me March is fine  :)

me garlic went in last November, shallots about 2 weeks ago, spuds in another couple of weeks at least (unless in far South eg cornwall i reckon it is too early, frost will get em when they come up).  Onion sets will go in mid-end this month.

My Shalott's (Red Sun ) went in this week.
They were beginning to spout in the packet.
99% Organic and 1% Slug Pellets.

Allotment holder since 27th May 2007.

My shallots went in with my onions and garlic in November and are all about 9" high and looking good. Not sure whether to put them in pre winter next year though as it ties up the bed over the winter months.....has advantages and disadvantages I guess.
