AS blight is striking my tom plants, I plan to harvest what is still healthy, whihc basically is a few lbs of very green cherry tomotos.
I have looked online, but I would like to have tried and tested.
What can I do with them except chutney? I still have some from last year, we really don't remember to eat it!!

Are they still safe to use if the stem had signs of blight, the fruits look healthy??

1 lemon
1/4 pint of water
1 1/2 lbs sugar

Heat the water and sugar. Slice toms, finely cut lemon and stick it in.

Thanks, due to all this rain my tomatoes have all split whilst green and I want to use them before they go bad.

we had fried green tomatos for lunch today    and very good
they were too, don't know why but was surprised how good, def
do them again, as still got plenty of green toms left. :cry:

I don't like green tomatoes, or tomato chutney etc, so I picked all the green tomatoes, kept them on the vine and hung them from the ceiling of the conservatory.  They are ripening beautifully, both the red and yellow tomatoes.  I have hardly any green ones left, only the very tiny ones which I give to the hens.
I freeze my tomatoes.  I just pick them, put them into a plastic bag and put them in the freezer.  To cook them, I just put them in the pan frozen, or around meat that I'm roasting or grilling, and they are very, very nice.
