my manure heap is overun with ants...

i have just dibbed in my leeks, and i was going to mulch round them with manure, but it seems the whole heap is alive with ants and eggs, there are no real usable bits, shall i abandon that heap and start another with some more manure?  Or can i use it if the ants do no harm ( i thought i might just be spreading them round my plot if i used it

Ants don't like the wet or disturbance - you will have less of a problem if you stir up your heap and water any dry bits.

I have a nest in each of my compost bins. Are ants bad if they nest on an allotment?
