What is this plant?

The little greenhouse in my new home has this plant growing in one of the beds and I don't know what is it. It started out as a single stem but now has several shoots growing from the top. Anyone got any clues?

That would make sense, because if it is in the greenhouse, it perhaps is a plant that needs tender care. Mrs B

The leaves don't look right for abutilon. Its common name is flowering maple and the leaves are maple leaf shape.
Is it possible to get a close-up picture of the leaves? Do they feel like a deciduous plant leaf or more sturdy, like an evergreen?

Question that comes into my head is ...was it planted deliberately? If not could it be a rogue willow seedling ?

I think the previous owner just grew tomatoes etc so don't think it's anything that was deliberately planted in there. The leaves are not looking willow-like, the end of the new growth looks similar to a sycamore but it's definitely not that either. Here's the close-up you requested.

I’d go with ‘W’... wait and see what it does next year.

I'd go for W but for weed tree seedling
Get it out while you still can - before the roots get too invasive.

Now I've seen the leaves in close-up, I agree, it's definitely not an abutilon, but I really can't say what it is.

I think I'll just pot it up and see what happens next year - thanks.
