Post by: amiman on February 10, 2020, 12:18
I have bought 2 wooden compost bins for my plot. Have built than up and put in place just wondering if I should put weed membrane on the bottom of each bin or just leave it soil.

What have you done with your if you have em

Not sure what purpose weed membrane would serve - you'd be very unlucky to find weeds growing up through your compost, and it might make it more difficult for worms to find their way in.

Chicken wire would be a better bet - it would stop rats burrowing in if they're a potential problem where you are.

Cheers I will leave it soil bottom then. No problems with rats on plot as far as I know.
