I have an echinacea plant that is possibly 3 yrs old. (or more, time flies!!) I noticed today that there is a lot of grass growing around the roots, which I have tried to pull out and failed.
There appear to be small shoots growing from the bottom under the grass.
Would it be OK to lift it and try to remove the grass or would this be risky now that there are signs of growth.
I wouldn't like to loose it as it is a magnet for bees and other insects.
Any opinions gratefully received, thank you.
