Grape vine in a a pot

Grape vine in a a pot

Is it practical to grow a "fruiting" grapevine in a pot or does it need a bit more room than that?

We have ours growing up an obelisk in a huge terracotta thing - must be 3 feet across - and we get grapes every year.

Yes, it definately depends on the size of the pot. Ours was in a small 1ft high one for its first couple of years, simply because we didnt know what to do with it - it didnt do much. In 2007 it went into the ground and grows through into the greenhouse - it now fills the top of the greenhouse (it does fruit though):
