Title: Strawberries in Pots
Post by: adri123 on December 23, 2015, 16:17
Hi

I grew strawberries in co-op flower buckets this year and they are now outside hoping for some cold weather...

Would you repot them with fresh soil/compost or leave them in the same medium and try to feed?

Thanks for any replies.

Feed is the best idea as they do not like having established roots disturbed.
Give them a sprinkle of blood , fish and bone now and in spring before they flower.

Do not feed into the fruiting period as it can cause problems with the berries.

Thanks 8Doubles.

Is there an alternative to BFB?  Preferably plant/poo based.  I'm not squeamish but the thought that the fruit derives from carcases is not ideal to me...
